Scholarships

In order to motivate the students, Detroit Malayalee Association will provide educational scholarships ($1000) to those who have close social and cultural ties to the Malayalee community in the state. DMA scholarships are our way of helping you make college affordable. It's open to all high school seniors.

Students who demonstrate either academic merit or active community involvement or other notable achievements in any field will be eligible to recieve this scholarship. Prospective students should submit an online application detailing their academic details and other achievements along with a personal statement. Students are required to submit one reference to vouch the student's achievements.

Rishi Narendra Kumar (Son of Narendra Kumar & Rekha Narendra Kumar)

I am currently a student at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business studying Finance. My goal with my education, aided by this scholarship, is to combine my interests in investing and social impact. For fun, I love to watch soccer, try new foods, and hang out with friends!

I graduated from Northville High School. I am an incoming Freshman at the University of Michigan, Ann-Arbor. My goal is to pursue pre-med and become a neuro-surgeon and serve the community. My hobbies include Reading my Bible, Playing music including Piano, Guitar and drums, Singing and playing Basketball.
